Terms of Use

Effective date: 11 August 2026

These Terms explain the rules for using the Capelli Institute of Trichology website, student portal and related online services.

1. About these Terms

These Terms explain how to use the Capelli Institute of Trichology website, student portal and related services. By using them, creating an account or applying for a programme, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Education and health information

CIT provides education about trichology, hair therapy, scalp care and salon business. Our website and courses are not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or an emergency service. Please consult a qualified healthcare professional about a personal health concern.

3. Accounts and applications

Give us accurate information when you apply, register or create an account. Keep your login details secure. An application does not guarantee admission, a place, a certificate, employment or a particular result.

4. Courses and payments

Course dates, content, instructors, fees and availability may change where reasonably necessary. Your admission or enrolment documents will explain the specific rules for payment, refunds, withdrawals, deferments and certification.

5. Respectful use

Use the Services lawfully and respectfully. Do not disrupt the website, bypass security, upload harmful code, impersonate someone, submit false information, copy materials without permission or use the Services to harm others.

6. Our content and third-party links

CIT or its licensors own the website content, course materials, photographs, videos, logos and downloads. Learners may use assigned materials for personal study only. Third-party links, social platforms and payment services have their own terms and privacy notices.

7. Availability and responsibility

We work to keep the Services accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee that every feature will always be uninterrupted, secure or error-free. To the extent allowed by law, CIT is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Services.

8. Changes, law and contact

We may update or restrict the Services and will publish changes to these Terms with a new effective date. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, subject to rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Contact info@capelliinstituteoftrichology.com with questions.

LEGAL INFORMATION

Terms of Use

The terms that govern access to CIT’s website, student portal, course information and online services.

Effective date: 11 August 2026

These Terms explain the rules for using the Capelli Institute of Trichology website, student portal, course information and related online services.

1. Acceptance and scope

These Terms of Use (the Terms) govern your access to and use of the websites at www.capelliinstituteoftrichology.com and academy.capelliinstituteoftrichology.com, together with their pages, student-registration tools, student portal, course information, newsletters, blogs, gallery, digital materials and related online services (collectively, the Services). The Services are operated by Capelli Institute of Trichology (CIT, we, us or our).

By accessing or using the Services, creating a student account, applying for a programme, subscribing to communications, or submitting information to us, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. If you use the Services for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

These Terms govern use of the Services only. A learner who is offered admission may also be required to accept a separate admission letter, enrolment agreement, course handbook, payment plan, code of conduct, clinical-placement document or other written policy. Where a separate document expressly applies to a learner’s programme, it will govern that subject matter to the extent of any inconsistency with these Terms.

2. Information purpose; no medical care or emergency service

CIT provides education and information in trichology, hair therapy, scalp care and salon business. Website and course information is for general educational and informational purposes. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, treatment plan, prescription, or substitute for a consultation with a suitably qualified healthcare professional.

The Services are not intended for medical emergencies, urgent health concerns, or obtaining individual clinical advice. Do not rely on website content to diagnose, treat, manage or prevent a personal medical condition. Seek prompt advice from a qualified healthcare professional for a health concern and emergency assistance where appropriate.

Participation in a CIT course, or receipt of a certificate from CIT, does not by itself authorise a learner to practise medicine, prescribe medicines, hold themselves out as a medical practitioner, or provide any service beyond the scope permitted by applicable law, professional standards and any licence or qualification the learner independently holds. Learners are responsible for obtaining their own legal, professional and insurance advice before offering services to clients.

3. Eligibility, applications and accounts

You must provide information that is accurate, current and complete when you apply, create an account, subscribe, make an enquiry or otherwise use the Services. You must promptly update information that materially changes. We may decline, suspend or cancel an application or account where information is materially inaccurate, misleading, incomplete, unlawful or submitted without the required authority.

Programme eligibility, prerequisites, admission decisions, cohort dates, mode of delivery, supervised-placement capacity and available places are determined by CIT in accordance with the applicable programme requirements. An application, registration request or account creation does not guarantee admission, a place, a timetable, certification, graduation, employment, professional recognition or a particular result.

If you are under the age of 18, you may use the Services or apply for a programme only with the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian. CIT may require evidence of that consent before processing the application or granting access. You must not create an account using another person’s identity or contact details without their permission.

You are responsible for safeguarding your username, password and access device, and for all activity carried out through your account. You must not share account credentials, allow another person to access a course through your account, or attempt to access another user’s account. Tell us promptly at info@capelliinstituteoftrichology.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Course information, enrolment and fees

CIT may publish programme descriptions, course duration, fees, registration fees, schedules and learning formats on the Services. We aim to keep this information accurate, but course content, instructors, delivery format, dates, entry requirements, fees and availability may change where reasonably necessary. A published price or description is not a binding offer unless confirmed by CIT in writing as part of the applicable admission or enrolment process.

Tuition, registration fees, instalment arrangements, payment deadlines, refund eligibility, withdrawals, deferments, transfers and any additional charges will be governed by the written terms provided to the learner before or at enrolment. CIT will not be required to provide access to a programme, assessment, certificate or other service until all applicable admission and payment requirements have been satisfied. If payments are made through a third-party payment provider, that provider’s terms and privacy notice will also apply to the payment transaction.

Unless CIT expressly confirms otherwise in writing, a programme purchase or enrolment is personal to the named learner and may not be sold, transferred, shared or assigned. Any scholarship, promotion or reduced fee is subject to its stated conditions and may be withdrawn if those conditions are not met.

5. Acceptable use and learner conduct

You may use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not interfere with the security, operation or availability of the Services; bypass access restrictions; use automated means to extract content or personal information without written permission; upload malware or harmful code; impersonate another person; submit false information; infringe another person’s rights; or use the Services in a threatening, abusive, discriminatory, fraudulent or unlawful manner.

You must conduct yourself respectfully when communicating with CIT staff, instructors, other learners and members of the public. CIT may investigate misuse and may suspend, restrict or terminate access, remove material, decline a submission, cancel an application or take any other action reasonably necessary to protect learners, staff, systems, intellectual property or legal rights.

6. Learning materials and intellectual property

The Services and all material made available through them, including text, course notes, lessons, videos, photographs, graphics, logos, designs, assessments, trademarks, software and downloadable materials, are owned by CIT, its licensors or the relevant rights holder and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Subject to these Terms and any separate enrolment agreement, CIT grants an enrolled learner a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable permission to access assigned course materials solely for personal study during the authorised access period. This permission does not permit copying, recording, photographing, reproducing, reselling, uploading, publishing, publicly displaying, distributing, sublicensing, creating derivative works from, or making commercial use of materials without CIT’s prior written permission, except where applicable law permits it.

You retain ownership of original work that you submit. However, you grant CIT a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce and use that work to the extent reasonably necessary to administer your account, deliver the programme, assess your work, provide feedback, maintain academic records, resolve disputes and comply with legal obligations. You confirm that your submissions do not infringe another person’s rights or disclose confidential information that you are not authorised to disclose.

7. Photographs, video and testimonials

CIT may take photographs or video at classes, events, workshops or graduation activities. Where your identifiable image, voice or testimonial is proposed for promotional publication, CIT will obtain any consent required by applicable law or provide an appropriate notice and opportunity to object. A learner may contact info@capelliinstituteoftrichology.com to ask about a particular use. Withdrawal of consent will not affect materials already lawfully published or retained where continued retention is required or otherwise lawful.

8. Third-party services and links

The Services may contain links to third-party websites, social-media profiles, payment providers or services not operated by CIT. Those links are provided for convenience only. CIT does not control, endorse or accept responsibility for third-party content, availability, security, products, services, terms or privacy practices. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that third party’s terms and privacy notice.

9. Availability, accuracy and changes

We may update, suspend, withdraw or change any part of the Services at any time. We do not guarantee that the Services, all content or any particular feature will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, timely, error-free or suitable for your particular purpose. You are responsible for making any reasonable backups of information you submit or download, subject to the rights and retention arrangements described in our Privacy Policy.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CIT and its directors, officers, instructors, employees, contractors, licensors and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive loss, or for any loss of data, business, opportunity, reputation, revenue or profits arising from or connected with your use of, inability to use, or reliance on the Services.

Where liability cannot be excluded, CIT’s total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Services will be limited to the amount you paid to CIT for the specific online service giving rise to the claim during the three months immediately before the event giving rise to liability. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation where applicable.

11. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold harmless CIT and its directors, officers, instructors, employees, contractors, licensors and agents from claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these Terms, your unlawful use of the Services, or your infringement of another person’s rights. This does not limit any right that applicable law gives you and applies only to the extent permitted by law.

12. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, protect and share personal information in connection with the Services, and how you may exercise privacy rights. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy. If you supply personal information about another person, you confirm that you have a lawful basis and, where required, their permission to do so.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Services at any time. CIT may suspend or end access to the Services, a user account or a course area where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, non-payment, suspected fraud, breach of these Terms, protection of other users, legal compliance or any other legitimate operational reason. Termination of access does not automatically cancel an enrolment agreement or change any payment, refund, record-retention or intellectual-property obligation unless CIT confirms otherwise in writing.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The courts of Lagos State, Nigeria will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or connected with these Terms or the Services, except where applicable law gives you a non-waivable right to bring a claim elsewhere.

Before commencing formal proceedings, you agree to contact CIT at info@capelliinstituteoftrichology.com with a clear written description of the issue and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve it informally. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent interim or protective relief where appropriate.

15. General terms

CIT may update these Terms from time to time. We will publish the updated version with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Services after the effective date means that you accept the updated Terms, unless applicable law requires another form of notice or consent.

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. CIT’s failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without CIT’s prior written consent; CIT may assign its rights and obligations as part of a restructuring, merger, acquisition or transfer of assets, subject to applicable law. These Terms, together with any expressly applicable enrolment documents and the Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement concerning use of the Services.
